Glossybox June

Hi guys, I apologize for not posting recently, I have been extremely busy with exams, but they're almost over now so hopefully I shall be posting more frequently. I also didn't post a review of last months Glossybox because honestly, I really wasn't impressed by it at all. This one isn't fantastic either, but I thought I'd show it to you anyway.

Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser SPF 15 - This was the product I was most excited about seeing in my box this month. I love Monu products. This is a moisturiser that gives you coverage during the (brief) sunny periods we have here. It acts similarly to a suncream, and I quite enjoy using it, it's very thick so moisturises dry skin well and feels very fresh on the skin.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - This looks really nice and shimmery in the bottle, but I really didn't find it to be the same on my skin. Once applied, it's barely visible and so in my opinion isn't really worth it. I was hoping it would enhance a tan slightly, but sadly not.

Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm - This is quite a nice product to use. Luckily I like the taste and smell of roses. If you're not a fan, this is definitely not the product for you. It gives a nice light sheen of pink on the lips and isn't too sticky, which is great.

MeMeMe Cosmetics Long Lasting Nail Gloss in the colour 92 Alluring - I'm not really a fan of this colour. In the summer I like to wear really bright coloured nail polish, and so this doesn't really fir my criteria. But I might get some use out of it in the Autumn/Winter.

Helen E Cosmetics Shimmer Eye Powder - This certainly isn't a product I would use every day as it's very shimmery and sparkly, but seeing as me Prom is around the corner (yay!), I figured it would be quite pretty to use for that, so luckily I'll get some use out of it. It's quite pigmented which is always a plus and seems to hold well on the eyelid.

Overall, I wasn't overly impressed by this months box, but it was much better compared to last months. What do you think of the box?

Glossybox April

This month's box was very Spring related. The box was absolutely beautiful and the contents were all very fresh scented products - right up my street!

Essie Adore-a-ball Nail Lacquer - I was very excited to see a full sized Essie nail polish in my box this month, and I adore the colour (pun intended!). It's a lovely light pink/white and very appropriate for Spring.

Yves Rocher 24 Hour Comfort Nourishing Cream - This is amazing. It's wonderfully moisturizing and smells just like fresh melon and cucumber, which is so relaxing to apply all over my face.

Balance Me Radiance Face Mask - This is another amazing product. This face mask is very different to any other face mask I've tried before - it exfoliates, cleanses and brightens the complexion! There's tiny little walnut granules in this, hence the exfoliating properties. To me it smells like Geranium and something else which I can't quite pinpoint.

Nip + Fab Dry Skin Fix Mango Body Butter - This is a lovely rich, moisturizing product which is so lovely to apply to the skin. It does have a very sweet scent but nothing too sickly or unbearable. I don't really think it smells of mango but it does the job of moisturizing well.

Richard Ward Couture Hair Optimiser Style Reviver - I have only used this once, but I was pretty impressed. I have curly hair so it sometimes gets a bit frizzy, but after i sprayed this, my hair was tamed! This controls frizz, increases shine and creates volume without residue or stickiness.

Colour pop

I have recently been really inspired by lots of colour in outfits. I'm beginning to tire of dark colours and can't wait until summer approaches so I can be as colourful as a beach ball! I love these outfits below and really want to try and put together some similar outfits in the coming weeks, to brighten my mood during this miserable exam period.

What do you think about these colourful outfits? Are you a colour person?

To the Beach

1. Topshop Navy Chevron Stripe Bikini
2. Miss Selfridge Mid Wash High Waist Shorts
3. Accessorize Mari Tote
4. Jack Wills Somerton Flipflops
5. Topshop Preppy Clear Round Sunglasses
6. Vogue + Elle
7. Ipod + Headphones
8. All Saints Peony Vest
9. Hawaiian Tropic Lime Coolada Body Butter
10. Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Protective Sun Lotion
11. Hawaiian Tropic Protective Dry Oil Spray

This is my to the beach wishlist. I always have to take something to read to the beach and it's always nice to have music on hand for sunbathing/snoozing. Another necessity for the beach is a large bag to be able to fit everything in. I don't like to wear anything fancy to the beach, but something pretty and simple. I love Hawaiian Tropic products mainly because of their smell - to me they smell of banana and coconut, which is divine in my opinion. I love this Topshop bikini, simply because it's got two uses - you can wear it with or without straps - perfect for the perfect tan with no noticeable tan lines across your neck!

What's your beach necessities and fancies?

Clarins Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel

Clarins Daily Energizing  Cleansing Gel

This cleanser is so amazing. I received this for Christmas, but didn't start using it until a few weeks ago. You apply this cleanser to wet skin and gently massage it in, through circular movements. The cleanser foams up and forms an almost milky consistency, making your skin extremely soft and smooth. Barley any product is needed to cover the whole face, which is great.

The smell of this cleanser is really refreshing, perfect for both morning and evening. It can be used on normal, dry, combination or oily skin so most people will be able to use this.

The cleanser includes Vitamin C to stimulate the skin's natural defenses, Turmeric which is a powerful antioxidant, Alchemilla which regulates sebum production to keep pores and the complexion clear and Ginkgo biloba which improves the skin's uptake of oxygen.

I loves this cleanser and I will definitely be repurchasing this.

Have you tried this cleanser? What do you think?

Glossybox March

This months box was themed City Chic, capturing me instantly!

Tresemme Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray - I was in need of a new hairspray so this was good. The hold in my opinion is really good and I quite like the smell so that's a bonus! I'm impressed.

Juicy Couture Couture La La - I'm not really a fan of seeing a perfume sample in my box, but this one I really like. 'Couture La La is feminine with bright florals, daring with bold florals and feminine with sensual woods and musk.' I really like this and might consider buying the full size.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream - I was quite excited to see this as I've wanted to try this for a while. I've mostly been using this on my lips and absolutely love it! It's so moisturizing  I put it on just before bed and wake up with really soft lips.

Nails Inc in St.James - Love this colour, it's a bright red with a hint of pink - really girly! This has been on my nails since Tuesday and has lasted pretty well with minimal chipping.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Blush - I love this. I love the bright colour and love the consistency - very smooth and easy to use. I use this after applying the Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream on days when I feel like a more glossy look instead of a bright pop, but this is lovely on its own as well.

All in all, a pretty good box in my opinion. I love the girly theme and everything in the box!

Make up brushes

I recently celebrated my 16th birthday and received some lovely presents from my friends and family. My brother bought me a make up brush collection, which I will be showing you today. This particular set comes from Light in the Box which you can find here.

As you can see, the collection is rather large (I couldn't photograph the whole collection in one photo as the case was too long to fit into one shot), which is great as there are loads of brushes I can chooses from to create different looks. I have been using these for about two weeks now and have to say, I am very pleased with them. I haven't experienced any shedding and they are very soft. They pick up plenty of product and are very easy to use.

These are the brushes I use the most, so I keep them in a little pot on my dressing table. I highly recommend these brushes to anyone, especially as they're so inexpensive and of a high quality. They're great for people who are only now venturing into the beauty world (like myself) as there are so many different brushes to choose from and are great to start a new collection with. They're a lovely addition to any make up brush collection.
